The new Pocket Cinema Camera 4K from Blackmagic Design is really easy to use with Tentacle Sync. The Microphone input of the camera also works as a timecode input. The camera can detect if the incoming signal is an audio signal from a microphone or an LTC timecode signal. The timecode will immediately be indicated on the top of the camera display and the sign "EXT" will appear right next to the timecode display.
Feeding Timecode to the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K:
- Make sure your Tentacle is running in Green Mode
- Connect the Tentacle with the Tentacle to DSLR Mini jack cable to the microphone port of the Blackmagic Camera
- That's it! You should see the running Timecode on the camera display.
Like the previous model of the Pocket Cinema Camera, there is a slight offset of the internal microphone to the video. In our Tentacle Sync Studio software, we do have a preset for the old model and we will have one for the new model as well. Make sure to keep the Tentacle connected all the time to ensure that the timecode is recorded at all times.
